Onychogomphus styx Pinhey, 1961
Northern Dark Claspertail
Type locality: Bwamba [= Semliki] Forest, Uganda
Diagnosis
Male is similar to O. seydeli and other dark supinus-group Onychogomphus species by (a) labrum black; (b) face sometimes all pale, but usually at least postclypeus partly dark; (c) broadly black on humeral stripe, this area at least as wide as flanking pale stripes; (d) all tibiae all black; (e) foliations on S8-9 about equally deep. However the taxonomy of these species is unresolved and O. styx is thought to range from Kenya and W Tanzania to Uganda. [Adapted from Dijkstra & Clausnitzer 2014]
Habitat description
