Type locality: Bambesa, DRC
Diagnosis
Male is similar to P. seydeli and P. unifasciata by (a) thorax with single bold stripe on each side (through metastigma); (b) Abd marked differently; (c) dorsum of S10 with peak bearing cone; (d) cerci slender and sinuous. However, differs by (1) larger size, Hw 46-49 mm; (2) hamule with long rather than short hook; (3) border of genital fossa anterior to genital lobe hollowed out; (4) cerci gradually widened towards base (lateral view), strongly sinuous, tips are sharply pointed and diverge (dorsal view); (5) epiproct with narrow rather than wide, and slightly notched apex. Habitat description
Mostly headwaters, but also larger streams, shaded by forest. Often with coarse detritus and a sandy and/or probably gravelly bottom, and probably blackwater and/or submerged roots. From 100 to 1700 m above sea level.
